Testimonials
, "Since seeing YME, I've craned my neck to catch graffiti on every train I pass. The subjects clearly trusted the filmmakers, and the result is an intimate and energetic look at an under-reported subculture."
- Deirdre Fulton, writer, Commondreams.org, former editor, Portland Phoenix
"Year-round Metal Enjoyment provides valuable access to a corner of the Yankee art world as passionate as it is shrouded and subversive. With its serious appraisal of a generation's worth of graffiti art, this gorgeous film makes statements about class, status, loneliness, commercialism, and a generation's fleeting romance with the material world."
- Nick Schroeder, Editor, Dispatch magazine
"The MF Doom of graffiti movies. Not your average 'graffiti video' of a bunch of juiced up dudes vandalizing shit to a horrible soundtrack. [Year-round Metal Enjoyment] tells a story, and it documents the lives and experiences of the people involved. It's educational, visually captivating and seriously fucking rad."

More on Shake Rattle Roll from the San Diego Model Railroad Museum... The San Diego Model Railroad Museum proudly presents “Shake Rattle Roll”. This exhibit features a glimpse into railroad graffiti culture and how the model railroad community are replacing what is seen on the railroads today. Dating back to the mid 1900’s through present day, urban style graffiti has incorporated topics of deep personal meaning, cultural awareness and political driven themes. The railroad equipment has not set a limit on what an individual can do with graffiti expression. It has also not stopped various small scale train modelers who wish to replicate these beautifully decorated trains. Become absorbed in displays featuring authentic freight train graffiti models and engage with hands-on activities that allow guests to practice expression through writing and art. Experience the lifestyle, growth, and public perception of graffiti art and how the model railroading community has become an active participant in recreating and preserving this artistic subculture. Featuring model railroaders Joseph Espinoza, Scott Richardson, Josh Baakko, Patrick Yates, Travus Clark, Rick Kempf and Roy Butch Heyler. Featured artist in the exhibition, Christopher “Sake One” Kinney. Special thanks to Paint on Freights, Mint Films, San Diego Cultural Arts Alliance, Writerz Blok, Bill Coleman and Michael Armstrong |
